One Laptop per Family Initiative

Affordable and supported pathways to household access to laptops.

Phased programme development
Illustrative practical setting for One Laptop per Family Initiative

Affordable and supported pathways to household access to laptops.

OLPF is one of the eight connected components of the Benue State Smart Education Programme.

What this component covers

  • Negotiated acquisition opportunities
  • Supported access and sponsorship arrangements
  • Learning beyond the classroom
  • Clear warranty, ownership and support terms

Learning beyond the classroom

OLPF seeks to expand household access to laptops for education, digital literacy and productive participation. Families can share a device to support learning and appropriate everyday digital tasks.

Access arrangements

Possible pathways include negotiated purchase, financing and targeted sponsorship. Availability, eligibility, total cost, repayment obligations and ownership terms will be explained for each offer. Expressing interest does not create a free-device entitlement.

Practical support

Device suitability, warranty, repairs and guidance on safe and effective use will form part of delivery planning.

Register your interest

An adult household representative can submit an enquiry indicating location and intended educational use. Do not submit children’s details or financial documents through the public enquiry form.

Availability and participation

Component-specific arrangements will be confirmed as implementation progresses. Contact the coordination team to discuss institutional participation, delivery capabilities or an expression of interest.
